Hi Fanis, ( been too long ! )
The tendency of capitalism is not to supply small bits that you can use to repair things yourself- after all, there's not enough profit for the capitalists in that set up e.g. Venhill are only too happy to sell you this contraption

             http://www.venhill.co.uk/Motorcycle_Tools/MISCELLANEOUS_TOOLS/VT13_CABLE_INNER_WIRE_BIRD_CAGING_TOOL.html

for almost £100  when it's not all that safe & NO need for it in the first place?
IF you can obtain suitable cable outers, cable outer end caps, inner cable ( 2 m.m. for clutches & probably around  1.4 - 1.6 M.M. for throttles but I'm not sure on throttles as I've only made up clutch cables. - You can probably get some bits from cycle shops / suppliers.
Apart from that, you need a 175 watt electrical soldering iron. A stick of Tinsmans ( hard ) solder, a tin of Baker'a Soldering Fluid, a suitable size parallel pin punch ( or similar ) & hammer, vice& a wooden clothes
peg.
Slide the cable through the nipple & unspread he end enough to fill the countersunk hole in one side of the cable hole. Hammer that part of the cable to completely fill that cone shaped hole. Now move the nipple  & cable up a little higher in the vice. At the same time put the wooden clothes peg round the cable, in order to prevent the vice from acting as a heat sink that drains heat away from the joint. Dribble through the hole some soldering fluid to help the soldering process. Position the nipple & cable so as to get the heated soldering iron under the nipple. Apply the soldering stick to the top & when it melts & tarts to exit the nipple around the cable it's almost done.  Allow to cool & clean up with snips & small file. Finally wash the nipple.
The first time I tried this it seemed a little intimidating, but once the first one was done, it became quite easy. - HTH?

Hey Jim, yes long time indeed! I hope all's well mate, about the diy throttle cables, I've fixed some keeping the outer cables, but it was in single cylinder bikes, in two cylinder like tzr, tdr and the rest, you can't easily get the required lengths, and taking them apart to fine tune lengths is a time consuming work. Especially on the tdr, you have to take the exhaust chambers and the gas tank off too. If there is a ready to fit alternative, I'll jump on it!

1) You'll get a PM shortly- when I can get my head above water for long enough ! :) I'm presently having one of those phases when it "never rains but it pours", but I can see some "light @ the end of the tunnel" - Just love mixing my metaphors. :)
2) It might be possible to use cycle derailleur cable inners to replace throttle cable inners?
3)I'm like most others in that I prefer the easy option, but it's not always available. In which case, I do what the situation requires- & as the Russians say "A poor man has to think"!

Cheers,
  Jim
