Has anyone got any good leads on tyres for my 1KT? These smaller sizes are getting harder to find decent rubber for.

I've heard good feedback from BT46 on RZ350.
Not tested myself.

I put on Avon road rider 2's last May, and they have been lovely on the road for the last 1000 miles.

Can't comment on ultimate grip as I haven't tracked them, but they certainly feel good to me, I'm very confident on them.

Defo getting another set when these run out.

For reference I used to run Bridgstone bt39ss road and track about 20 years ago.
But they were not the correct speed rating. If I remember correctly, the ones I got were for 125cc bikes. I did look for bt39ss last year as they still make the correct size, but they were again the wrong speed rating.

Thanks for the suggestions. The road rider 2 come out at £180 and the BT46 are £205. I'm sure both tyres are better than me, so I might just go for the cheaper set.

I have on my tzm 150 the irc rx 02's aka road winner. 2.5inch wheels.
They have been great these newer versions came out in 16. New tread design and compound was done. To give more grip overall and are said to be much better on the wet stuff.

Lil over 1000 miles on them and they are holding up great.

90/100 up front with a 120 rear.

hey just wondering if this could be worth doing . i seen a 2ma in spa mc shop the other day and i immediately recognised the rear wheel looked like a 4DL 125 wheel , with a 140 rear tyre it didnt look out of place . but would the tyre choice be better doing a set up like that - assuming the fronts were easy size keeping std etc .  ??? I'm pretty sure that's a std. Yamaha Past Masters race modification. Have a look on their website

If you can fit a 4DL rear you might be able to fit the SZR660 rear, 4.0x17".

Can be tricky to find but I bought one for my 3MA track bike so that I can have access to all the modern 17" race tires.

A TZR125 4FL rear rim 3.5x17 is a direct swap.
I've done this on my TZR250 2MA (my 2XT has already this rim).

You can fit a 130 or 140 modern tire.
