U.S.D. forks for 2MA?

I believe the latest version of the 2MA uses U.S.D. front forks, but they are liable to be expensive, & not necessarily the best. - So, has anybody tried a slightly older set of front forks ( & presumably top & bottom yokes?) & found them better? Did they still find it necessary to make any more "tweaks" to set them up to their liking, & if so, what did you do? - What I'd prefer is "Value for money" - If that still exists?
