Hello all
Bit of a newbie on here, i've read loads but no post's
For the last year i've been restoring a 3XV1 which i bought direct from japan about 11 years ago!,did not have a chance to work on it before as i was just to busy with work, its a 1991 3xv1 frame #006500, it has 3xv30 cylinders, 3xv50 heads, 3xv60 cdi, dry clutch, the bike was partially stripped when i got it, the stripped parts were in a box, so nothing missing.in the box was an electronic oil pump unit, but the motor had a mechanical pump?? anyway the engine was put back in the frame & all connected up, initially it started up ok albeit a bit smokey as i had it on premix for the first 10 mins, next day it was on straight fuel & running ok, later that day i started it again but it started running a bit weird! & all it does now is just run at tickover nothing more! opening the throttle has no response, & it sounds like the timing is all wrong as it seems to change erratically.
I just don't know where or what to start looking at. I'm hoping someone of the forum might be able to shed some light on this.
Thanks in advance
gordon

Does the lights also act weird or dimmer then usual. My guess is the voltage regulator / rectifier probably just died on you. Which makes the bike run funky not rev out.

It's not uncommon for the oil solenoid setup to be swapped for the older mechanical setup. This was usually done when someone put a sugo or dog fighter cdi on. They didn't work the electric oil solenoids.

Hi
thanks for the reply, I only have the rear light on at the moment as all the bodywork is away being painted. I will try & do a few tests to see what may have gone wrong & post back.

Thanks
